OneWay Outreach Inc.

Our Story

OneWay Outreach Inc. was founded in August 2007 by Travon Williams, who is the son of Stanley “Tookie” Williams, a five-time Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Our mission is to empower at-risk youth through basketball, mentoring, and educational activities in order to convert them into individuals of value.

The philosophy of this organization is to be non-traditional family-centered. Simply put, we are committed to providing responsive and innovative services to meet the needs of the community. OneWay Outreach is supported by community leaders, volunteers, family members, and parents. We take pride in our philosophy of “Nothing Fancy - Just Family,” and we aim to steer and keep our youth away from the daily temptations they face.

Our first venture began with our non-traditional “alternative to violence” approach through our traveling Basketball Project.  This program targets students in elementary, middle, and high schools with low grade point averages and disciplinary problems as well as those students who are exhibiting negative behaviors.  It is very important that we provide an outlet for the youth before they are lost to the streets of Los Angeles.

We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization seeking to improve the quality of life for at-risk youth and their families in South Los Angeles.  All services are provided for our participants free of charge.

While continuing to strive to bridge the gap between neighbors, parents, educators, and officials, we are dedicated to showing the world new and improved ways of redeeming and revitalizing our community.
